SSDAC Code of Conduct
Dancing Behaviour Code Leg contact and hand contact is allowed with shoulders, arms, waist, and hips. The use of vulgar, profane, or obscene language or gestures is not permitted. Consequences of Misconduct Any dance attendee who disobeys the set rules may be removed from the dance by a chaperone. The offender will be closely supervised while a parent or guardian is contacted. The offender will then be escorted off the premises into the charge of parent or guardian. If criminal offences are detected, the Police will be notified and handle the violation(s). Any dance attendee who disobeys the Code of Conduct may be banned for further attendance at any future events. In this event, a letter will be sent to the violator’s home and a copy will be maintained by SSDAC Chairman and the Secretary. If a Student is removed from the dance, the cost of the admission to the event will not be refunded. The Police will be contacted if a banned student attempts to gain entry into a SSDAC function at a future time. Dance Code of Conduct Student and Guest agreement of SSDAC Code of Conduct * I will dress according to the Dress Code * I will behave courteously, act responsibly, and possess good manners. * I will use controlled and appropriate language. * I will not use vulgar, profane, or obscene language or gestures. * I will not leave the facilities without being signed out by an adult. * I will not smoke or use tobacco products at a SSDAC dance event. * I will not use alcohol, drugs, or be associated with or remain in the presence of others when they are being used. * I will not carry or threaten another person with a weapon, bodily force, or threatening verbal or non-verbal language. * I will avoid roughness to room furnishings, furniture, equipment, etc. * I will be financially responsible for any damage or results of any misconduct. * I will respect the rights of all others attending all SSDAC activities. * I will not congregate or spend unreasonable time in the rest rooms. * I will not loiter on grounds property before, during, or after dances. * I will not exchange money or other objects with other attendees during the dance. * I will cooperate and obey the directions of the chaperones during the dance. * I agree to and will obey the Dancing Behaviour Code. * I will not sit on tables, stage, stage steps, cafeteria counter or another person’s lap. |
Parents and Spectators* Set a good example to young dancers. (Your conduct and attitude can be copied by them) * Recognise good sporting behaviour. (Show that you appreciate sportsmanship on the dance floor) * Appreciate good dancing. (Show that you appreciate good dance skills by whichever couple) * Always consider others. (Even if excited by the competition yourself, remember and consider other spectators - young and old) * Learn the Laws of dance. (You will appreciate how difficult interpretation can be) * Never use foul or abusive language. (Do not shout abuse at Dance officials - qualified or club - who have a difficult job to do) * Never take the Law into your own hands. (Let your club or team representative deal with any problems that may arise) * Never be drawn into disputes. (Don’t become involved in an argument or dispute with other spectators, dancers or officials.) * Remember that "Walls have Ears" Remarks you make (even in the dressing room) could be detrimental to the club. * The decisions made by the Dance Director are final and should not be openly challenged. The Dance Director will discuss your own child’s performance and potential but will not engage in open debate with parents concerning couple selection, routines * Dance Competition should be enjoyable for the boys and girls. (Support your son or daughter and his/her team in a manner, which will maintain the high reputation that the SSDAC and EADA have acquired.) ![]() |
